Melissa Taylor
(she/they)
With RLT since 2013, Melissa is originally from Atlantic City, NJ where she spent over a decade working in entertainment at the Borgata Hotel, Casino, and Spa as the Box Office and Showroom Supervisor managing FOH operations and ticketing for acts like The Rolling Stones, Jerry Seinfeld, Janet Jackson, Billy Joel, and many more. She holds a BA in Theater Performance from Stockton University, an MA in Arts Administration from Rowan University, and a Graduate Certificate in Arts Culture Strategy through the University of Pennsylvania and National Arts Strategies. In 2017, Melissa was recognized as a top 40 finalist for Reno-Tahoe YPN's 20 Under 40. In 2018, she was recognized as a "Woman of Achievement" by Nevada Women's Fund. Melissa currently serves on the board of Silver State Storytellers and has previously served as an Advisory Board Member for the David J. Drakulich Art Foundation. She is passionate about supporting other local non-profits through creative and meaningful partnerships. In addition to her administrative role at RLT, Melissa regularly directs and occasionally makes her way to the stage. Directing credits at RLT include Bull in a China Shop; Murder on the Orient Express; The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged); Red; Fortinbras; Calendar Girls; Peter and the Starcatcher; A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Favorite Reno performance roles include The Last Five Years (Cathy) at GLM; Enchanted April (Lotty) and Side by Side by Sondheim at RLT; Into the Woods (The Baker's Wife) and a really fun whirlwind of stepping in with 48hrs notice for one performance as Grace in Annie at SSPA. Outside of the theater, Melissa enjoys puzzles, black licorice, good music, and spending time with her three awesome kiddos.
