About RLT
The mission of Reno Little Theater is to create exceptional theatrical experiences that inspire, entertain, and strengthen our community through artistic engagement and collaboration.

Reno Little Theater (RLT) was founded in 1935. For 90 years, RLT has served local artists and audiences by providing a place where they can explore their creativity and create connections with each other through the arts. In many cases, those connections have lasted for generations and it is not uncommon to hear audience members reminisce about their own history with the organization- from watching their grandmother onstage decades ago to seeing their child take their first bow as part of Reno Little Theater’s Education Program.

Today, RLT is in its 90th Season and has reached a new level of success which highlights the magnitude of the way the community still values the organization. It began with the opening of a 99-seat black box theater in the Wells Avenue District of Reno in 2012. In 2013, the organization hired its first professional staff member in over thirty years and continued to grow its capacity and programming. Today, RLT has a full-time staff of seven who continue to work to grow the organization. With single-ticket audiences increasing by more than 10% year over year since 2014 and season ticket holders growing by more than 60% in the same amount of time, RLT has grown to now reach more than 18,000 people annually through its plethora of programming. In 2018, RLT was able to pay off the theater’s mortgage and now owns its facilities at 147 E. Pueblo Street outright, positioning Reno Little Theater to continue to impact Reno audiences for decades to come. In 2019, prior to beginning our 85th season, a new seating structure was installed, increasing our capacity to 128.

Reno Little Theater is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization. Donations may be tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. We welcome volunteers in all areas of production and administration. We hope that you will browse through our site and contact us if you have questions.

About GLM
Our vision is a community where the theatrical arts are an integral aspect of life and the life of an artist is integral to the theatre.

To bring that vision to reality, Good Luck Macbeth aims to create relevant and impactful works of art that demonstrate the transformative power of theatre and co-create equitable opportunities for artists to express their truest authentic selves, both in and off the stage, in Northern Nevada.

Theatre tradition dictates that there are two phrases which can never be uttered inside the theatre space; two phrases so accursed, blighted, and ghastly their very mention is said to bring catastrophe upon the cast and crew. These phrases are "Good Luck" and "Macbeth".

Our beloved city was so deeply impacted by financial hardship, we led the nation in home foreclosures, bankruptcies, and unemployment. Artistic opportunities were as difficult to come by as business loans or stable jobs. This terrible time also provided us with a bright spot in the form of plenty of creative time. It was then that we decided to create our theatre company; an affordable and accessible space where we could provide a voice, a venue, and an artistic home to playwrights, poets, singers, songwriters, actors and artists.
With every disadvantage against us, from the city we were living in, to the amount of money we had (none), to our lack of a space to perform in, we forged ahead, powered by a can-do spirit inherent to all Renoites and plenty of whiskey.
We are named "Good Luck Macbeth" not because we don't believe in the fates, but because we do. We believe that fate will sometimes put up an obstacle just to see if you're determined enough to get around it, and once you've succeeded, you will own your fate and make your luck.
