Volunteering

To  join our team of volunteers, email volunteers@renolittletheater.org. We will send out special volunteer notices to this email group with training events, committee meetings, and other news just for volunteers.

During our 76 years, Reno Little Theater has staged over 2,750 performances of more than 5000 shows. We estimate that more than 6,000 different people have helped at Reno Little Theater, averaging 90 hours per show per volunteer (that’s over 540,000 hours!). It is our family of volunteers that keep the organization running smoothly. They greet theater patrons as ushers and box office personnel, mail newsletters, work on publicity and fundraising, build the scenery, costumes, and props, and operate the light and sound boards. All of our actors, actresses, stage crews, and directors are volunteers. We treasure our volunteers and each of the special talents each person brings to RLT.

Current volunteer needs:

In search of Ushers and Box Office volunteers!
Want a fun and easy way to get involved with RLT and meet new people? Join our team of ushers and box office volunteers. The folks that greet you at the box office and the door of the theater have a reason to be smiling – they get to see that evening’s show for free! Come to one of our short trainings to get started and we’ll add you to the list. You decide which night you want to volunteer, then, when we close the doors, head to the seats reserved for volunteers (just inside the main theater doors). To volunteer for one of our fall shows, attend a short training! We’ll be offering more trainings in the winter if you can’t make it.
Dates:
Sunday, 9/23 at 1:00pm
Monday, 9/24 at 6:00pm

Please RSVP to mckenzi@renolittletheater.org with the date you plan to attend.

Concession Workers
Need volunteers to take the alcohol awareness training course (on line), take the test (Moana Lane office) and get their handlers card ($15 good for 4 years) which we’ll reimburse on their first night of working concessions.  Consession volunteers may also see the show on the night of their assignment if space is available.

To volunteer for concessions, please email boxoffice@renolittletheater.org

Resource Development Committee
The goal of the Resource Development Committee (RDC) is to develop fundraising strategies in line with the Theater’s overall goals and programs. We have tasks for many skill sets and varying time commitments including: data entry, making thank-you phone calls, planning special events, editing grants, preparing membership packets, pursuing corporate sponsors, acquiring in-kind donations, and much more. No experience necessary – we will provide full training for assigned tasks.

Questions? Feel free to email the RDC Chairperson, McKenzi, at mckenzi@renolittletheater.org
