The Actor’s Nightmare by Christopher Durang
Directed by McKenzi Swinehart

(2-3 M, 3 F) A humble accountant, George Spelvin, finds himself in the proverbial actor’s nightmare–in a play with no idea what to do or say. Just as he catches on, the play abruptly changes and he has to figure out what’s next with the help (or lack thereof) of his fellow actors and trusty stage manager.

Baby Food by David Lindsay-Abaire
Directed by David Tolles

(2 M, 2 F) Hoping to find godparents for their newborn son, a happy couple (Joyce and Marlon) invite their old college friends (Danita and Gary) over for dinner. The only problem is that Danita and Gary’s marriage isn’t doing so well. That and Joyce and Marlon have a rather unusual way of selecting godparents….

DMV Tyrant by Christopher Durang
Directed by David Tolles

(1 M, 1 F) In New York City, a man wants his license, but his temporary one has expired, and he’s not in the computer system. Not a problem, right?

English Made Simple by David Ives
Directed by Susanne Cann

(1 M, 1 F) In this wordy, witty, romantic comedy, Jack and Jill meet at a party–or do they meet again at a party? An off-stage voice narrates and directs their actions through a series of English lessons, as they explore the conditional tense (could, would, should), simultaneous translation (the secret meaning of common English words), and underlying rhythms of ordinary conversation.

Funeral Parlor by Christopher Durang
Directed by David Tolles

(1 M, 1 F) At her husband’s funeral, Susan goes through the motions of greeting and thanking her fellow mourners until she meets Marcus a well-meaning, but rather odd man who takes it upon himself to help her mourn, much to her chagrin.

The Philadelphia by David Ives
Directed by Susanne Cann

(2 M, 1 F) Mark woke up this morning in a Philadelphia, an alternate state wherein one can only get the opposite of what he wants. His friend Al guides him through an interaction with a diner waitress, only to be pulled into Mark’s Philadelphia as well.

Sure Thing by David Ives
Directed by Susanne Cann

(1 M, 1 F) Bill and Betty meet in a cafe. Their conversation is re-set by a bell anytime one of them reacts badly to the other. Fast and funny, this one-act explores many of the typical hurdles in getting to know someone.
