We need volunteers to help prepare the black box space for Leading Ladies. This will involve painting and some set building. We’ll start at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 4th at the new theater at 147 Pueblo in Reno. Any and all help would be appreciated. Volunteers needed for costume move

The time has come to retire our costume storage unit and move everything into our new facility! The move will the place Saturday, January 21st at 10am, and from then on the costumes will be unloaded and sorted into the new building. We’ll be meeting at the new theater (147 E. Pueblo St.) at 10am, and will be working throughout the day to get everything organized. All interested volunteers should contact Gary Cremeans at Gary@renolittletheater.org.

The building is located between Wells and Virginia Streets. Parking is available in 2 paved lots, as well as a gravel lot for overflow. Street parking is free.

Hello friends,

The 1/14/2012 performance of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is sold out. No tickets will be sold at the door.

All other performances of Cat are available, but we recommend making a reservation in advance (775-813-4981) and arriving early, as our theater is general seating. For evening performances: lobby opens at 6:45pm, theater doors at 7:00pm, curtain at 7:30pm. For matinee performances: lobby opens at 1:15pm, theater doors at 1:30pm, curtain at 2:00pm.

Volunteers Needed Opening New Theater

Volunteers are needed to help us move into the NEW THEATER! Yes, the long-awaited dream is nearly a reality and you can help get us there in time for our first show, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, which opens on January 6th.

Here’s what we need:

3-4 people to build small lightweight partitions (light lifting involved)

3-4 people to install mirrors and lighting bars in the dressing room (light lifting of up to 20 lbs, and low ladder work – 6 feet)

3-4 people to build and install clothing racks/shelves in the costume room (cutting pipe, installing brackets, some ladder work at max height of 10 feet, lifting up to 10 lbs)

4-6 people to build and install the lighting grid system (some work at 20 feet high on a lift or ladder, medium lifting up to 30 lbs). This is the most difficult job of all and requires care, skill, balance and no fear of heights.

These projects must be accomplished between December 15-January 1st especially the weekends of the 17-18th, and 31-1st. Having your own tools is helpful but not necessary.

After the show opens on January 6th, help will be needed to finish the move in. This includes:

5-10 people to move, organize, catalog, hang/fold costumes (very light repeated lifting and step ladder work)

5-10 people to move, organize and catalog technical, set equipment and furniture (light lifting with a few heavy items)

We are also looking for a dedicated, motivated volunteer to oversee our costumes. This person should be knowledgeable and capable of organizing the move from an offsite storage unit to our new facility. This person would lead the move under our Artistic Director’s general oversight, but will shoulder the responsibility for securing, organizing, cataloging, and culling our many thousands of costume pieces. If willing, this volunteer would then be considered (among others) to act as our future costume director.

Stage Manager Needed for Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

RLT is seeking a stage manager for Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, which opens this coming January in the new building. Rehearsals are various weeknights and Sunday afternoons, with flexibility until tech week (1/1/12-1/5/12) and the run of the show (1/6/12-1/22/12 Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with a possible extension through 1/29/12).

RLT’s Theater Set Construction Class II

Reno Little Theater’s Tech Workshops continue with Tech II on Saturday, October 8 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm in the Rehearsal Hall / Shop behind the brick house at 246 E. Arroyo. This hands-on workshop will focus on creating wagons, platforms, stairs, and general bracing and assembling of a set. The space for this workshop will be limited to 12 people due to the complexity and space of the projects. Come to get dirty as we will be cutting, drilling and assembling all sorts of things.
