An updated document has been uploaded that you can send via E-mail instead of online submission form. We apologize for the inconvenience.
For the 2013-2014 season we are looking for play and/or director proposals covering the entire spectrum of genres, styles, and time periods. We seek plays of any genre that deftly explores the human condition in all its complexity and variety. We have a long and proud tradition of producing classic “community theater” pieces and mysteries as well as very contemporary satires and dramas. For example, as part of our Broadway series last year we became the first community theater to present the difficult Pulitzer prize winning masterpiece August: Osage County. We are open to nearly anything and our New Fringe series will allow us to produce unpublished plays, local plays, short plays, and very avant-garde productions–even the disturbing and off color if they have artistic merit.
Deadline for all applications has been extended to January 11th, 2013.
You may submit more than one proposal. Please send to the E-mail address below the RLT_Play_Submission_Form 2013-14 and the script; especially if proposing a less well-known play. Hard-copy script copies will be returned upon request. The more complete and thorough the application narrative the better.
We seek committed directors who have a clear vision and strong narrative sense and who just have to tell a story. We attempt to work around everyone’s schedule and always mix in new directors. We have an apprentice AD and Fringe directing programs as well.
